Numerous individuals are facing drug and property related charges after a standoff ended peacefully in Morden Wednesday.

The incident began with a Morden Police investigation into a stolen vehicle at approximately 12:15 p.m. Police say it was an ongoing investigation and were familiar with several suspects who'd been involved in similar incidents in the past months.

Through further investigation police learned one of the suspects was attempting to evade police and had moved to a nearby location.

"Upon arrival at our first location we were able to take several individuals into custody," explained Morden Police Sgt. Sean Aune. "This led us to our second location, where we also took several people into custody... and recovered a second stolen vehicle."

However, from there the situation heightened.

While at the second location one of the suspects barricaded themselves inside the residence and would not communicate with police.

Police learned of the presence of a weapon and the Regional Support Tactical Team was deployed. Negotiators were utilized throughout the day and at approximately 9:20 p.m the suspect was taken into police custody.

Police continue to investigate with more details to follow.
