Smiles were brought to the faces of the patients at Boundary Trails Health Centre palliative care ward on Friday.

Before the fundraising concert for the palliative care program, February 23, Rosemary Siemens and local musicians Grace and Orlando Sukkau visited those who did not have the ability to see the concert themselves.

Siemens explained the experience was emotional, seeing how the workers help those in their final days.

"It was a pretty amazing experience, played with Grace and Orlando for about half an hour. It was touching and inspiring to see the people who do the work there and how they touch these peoples lives in their final days."

The decision was made two days before the concert said, Siemens. She wanted to see the work that was being done and where the money they were raising was going.

Music is a way to touch lives, Siemens says, adding she wanted to show her support and help out those in palliative care.

Organizers say the concert was well received, with approximately $6,400 raised.
