Musicians from all over Winnipeg and southern Manitoba were showcased at the annual Back Forty Festival this weekend.

The event took place at the Morden Park and included sets by Ed Wayne, Jess Reimer and Jeremy Hamm, Frannie Klein, and many more.

Scott Bell, a coordinator of the Back Forty, said that there was lots of things going on, like the kids tent, the Artisan Village, and a songwriters circle featuring many of the performers from throughout the day. The Artisan Village was packed this year with many local crafters showcasing their work.

Lulu and the Tomcat were the hosts this year with a variety of entertaining songs for all generations throughout the afternoon.

Boston born blues musician, Watermelon Slim, flew up from Mississippi to perform in the late afternoon.

Wrapping up the event was the Dirty Catfish Brass Band.
