The construction of a new fire hall will be a major project for Rosenort this year. It will be built in the town's Industrial Park along highway 205, west of the Public Works shop.

The new hall is to be located by the Public Works building in Rosenort.

R.M. of Morris Reeve Ralph Groening says the $1.2 million project is moving ahead.

“Council has established an agreement and we're in the process of approving the establishment of a non-profit group in the community of Rosenort. They will manage the project,” he said.

The cost of the hall will be split between local donor money, general R.M. of Morris donations and municipal taxes.

“This will be kind of our version of a P3. We will have $400,000 which will be local donor money, then $400,000 in general RM of Morris donations, voluntary donations (of) commitments of $400,000, and then finally we will go to the taxpayers, the residents, with a debenture for the final $400,000 to complete the 1.2 million project.”

Groening adds there is hope for basic ground preparation to begin this fall.
