The Town of Morris has secured some provincial funding to pay for a new handi-van garage. Mayor Gavin van der Linde says Morris was one of about thirty municipalities to snag some dollars.

"Traditionally there's some federal and provincial funding that comes in for transit. In Manitoba we are unique in that the province carves a piece out not just for municipal transit but for rural handi-vans."

van der Linde says tenders for the garage, which will be built on the same yard that houses the town shop, will go out shortly.

He notes two handi vans operate in Morris and both are essentially busy full time.
