The joint Winkler/Morden Police Services annual bike auction was another success, raising over $3,000.

Winkler Police Chief Ryan Hunt explains their portion of the funds, $1,415, will be directed to their Victim Services department. The service provides counselling and covers unexpected court costs for victims. Hunt notes Victim Services is not funded by the city.

Winkler had 67 bikes up for auction.

Deputy Chief Chris Kalansky explains the unclaimed bikes accumulate over the year, though they make an effort to locate the original owner.

Morden Police Services has not yet designated funds from the bike auction.

The annual event is facilitated by Bill Klassen Auctioneers who donates his time for the cause.
