Local police are looking for the public's help in identifying a suspected car thief. 

Mid-afternoon Thursday, Altona officers assisted Morris RCMP in locating and seizing a stolen truck out of Morris. The vehicle had been disabled by OnStar and was found in the parking lot of the Altona Mall. Officers arrested a female suspect and took her into custody.

Shortly after, Altona police were alerted to a stolen mini-van from a business in the Industrial Park. The vehicle was later found in an area ditch. 

Police believe the two thefts are connected and are requesting help in identifying the suspect in the photograph. 

Police pay cash for information leading to a conviction. 

Anyone with any information regarding the suspect is asked to call the Altona Police Service at 204-324-5353 or Manitoba Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. You can also remain anonymous by leaving your tip on the Altona Police Service website.

The public is being reminded to secure your valuables even if you will be away from them for a short time. “It really only takes a few seconds to lock it or lose it”.
