The traffic lights at the corner of PTH 32 and Pembina Ave. are scheduled to go live tomorrow (Tuesday). Drivers will have noticed the lights flashing throughout the day Monday.

Winkler's Director of Planning and Engineering Scott Toews explains Manitoba Infrastructure requires traffic signals flash amber or red 24 hours prior to officially going live.

The new controlled intersection will help break up traffic on the high traffic artery through the city, and create more openings for left hand turns onto PTH 32.

Toews says overall the $1.3 million project sets the stage for the eventual four laning of PTH 32 North to Highway 14.
