The process to dampen dust on rural roads in the RM of Dufferin is about to get underway.

According to George Gray, reeve for the municipality, work will begin in the next week or two.

"I know with the dry weather and the dust there's been a lot of anxious people because there's dust flying around but it's just a process of coordination and timing," he said.

Gray explained the contractor will dust control between 1 to 1.5 miles in the municipality, noting at about $1 per foot the work doesn't come cheap.

Areas receiving the treatment are the Ring Road around Carman and the villages of Roseisle, Graysville, and Homewood.

He noted that for a fee, ratepayers can have the road in front of their yard dust-proofed as well.
