Last week's winter storm in North Dakota doesn't appear to have much impact on the Red River.

After analyzing the storm data, Manitoba flood forecasters are still predicting levels on the river to be slightly lower than in 2011.

Officials say it possible there will be no need to close Highway 75 north of Morris based on the most recent forecasts.

The river will crest at Emerson between April 20 and 24.

Meanwhile, the Red River Floodway was activated on Sunday afternoon and river water is spilling naturally into the floodway channel.

The forecast peak flow at the Red River Floodway is estimated to be between 19,000 and 24,300 cubic feet per second.
