Sun Valley Co-op is being forced to limit gas and diesel fuel purchases at its gas bars and cardlock facilities due to the ongoing labour dispute between Federated Cooperatives Limited and the union representing its workers.

FCL and Unifor have been engaged in a labour battle for over two months after more than 700 refinery workers were locked out. Unifor members have been blockading the refinery in Regina and blocking access to fuel terminals.

Sun Valley says that action has interrupted fuel deliveries to its sites increasing the potential for fuel outages.

As a result, the Altona based co-op has placed a limit of 100 litres of gas and 300 litres of diesel per day at its Cardlock facilities. It is also limiting the amount of fuel customers can purchase at its gas bars to a maximum of 100 litres.

Sun Valley operates gas bars in Altona, Morris, and St. Jean and has cardlocks in Altona, Morris, Dominion City and Emerson.
