Remembrance Day will be marked in Canada Saturday, November 11.

The day recalls the end of hostilities of World War I, which formally ended in 1918, at the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month.

However, the anniversary has become an opportunity to remember the many men and women who've served, and continue to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Services take place in a number of communities around the region:

-Carman at 10:45 am at Carman Community Hall

-Dominion City at 10:30 am at Dominion City Community Hall

-Gretna School at 10:30 am

-Manitou at 10:40 am at Manitou Opera House

-Morden Access Event Centre at 10:45 am

-Morris at 10:30 am at Morris Legion Hall. Gather at Legion Hall at 10:30, service will be held at RM of Morris office on Main Street. Highway 75 will be closed between Boyne Avenue and Kennedy Street during the service. Traffic will be re-routed by the RCMP and Morris Fire Department.

-Pilot Mound, 11 am at Pilot Mound Kin Centre

-Roseisle, 10:30 am at Roseisle Pentecostal Church

-Roland at 10 am at Roland Memorial Hall, Music at 10, Service at 10:45

-Winkler at 10:30 am at P.W Enns Centennial Concert Hall
