More renovations are in store for the Altona Civic Centre this year in an effort to freshen up the interior look of the building.

The building has undergone several renovations in the past few years, with an expansion of the local police station and improvements to the council chambers.

Mayor Melvin Klassen says now it's time to give their administrative offices a facelift.

"We're going to make it more efficient by creating more space and in some cases less space for some of their offices. We also want to create more privacy in certain areas and also make it more appealing."

Last year, the exterior of the building was given a cleaner look by removing some of the shrubs that had been planted along the south side, which was hiding the building's exterior.

"Those shrubs were old and the building needed a fresh look, and it's the same thing for the interior."

Tenders for the work are out and the council is expected to make its selection at next week's council meeting.
