Municipality of Rhineland crews continue to closely monitor Pembina River levels near Gretna.

Officials report that the Pembina rose overnight and peaked at 22.45 feet at 3 am Saturday morning at Neche, North Dakota. This is nearly 0.70 of foot higher then the record flood of 2011 (21.78 feet). The river level has since dropped, recording 21.89 feet at Neche, North Dakota just before 8 am Saturday morning, although water continues to press against the Border Road. Water does however, continue to flow over Highway 18 in North Dakota keeping the Neche and Gretna international border crossings closed for the time being.

The Aux Marias River is very full but still moving and not backed up, and officials say the culverts at the border are continuing to operate at full capacity.

The Rhineland Emergency Operations Centre has not been activated however, communication is ongoing with Manitoba EMO and Manitoba Water Stewardship.
