The Municipality of Rhineland is putting some Municipal Road Improvement money to good use. The provincial grant is worth $225,000 with the Municipality matching it dollar-for-dollar for a total of $450,000 being spent on road upgrades this summer.

Because the Municipality of Rhineland also includes the towns of Plum Coulee and Gretna, Reeve Don Wiebe said Council has the benefit of taking this pool of money and applying it to the region. "In bigger blocks where it makes sense so that some projects get finished completely."

He explained that most of the money will be used to further upgrade a number of priority grain roads in the Municipality. That work is already underway.

$40,000 is being spent on asphalt and paving in Plum Coulee and $60,000 is designated for intersection and asphalt work in Gretna.
