Menno Dyck is a Rosetown area farmer who is happy about the 1.1" of rain received Tuesday night.

While he is content with his harvest so far, he said the soybeans could use some moisture.

"That first rain we had here last week didn't seem to soak in any moisture into the dry beans. Pods were soaked but the beans inside were still dry, so maybe now they'll have little more moisture in them," said Dyck.

"We needed some rain for subsoil, so as long as it doesn't rain any more then we should be fine," he added.

Dyck noted his pinto beans are especially dry, and that he hasn't started harvesting his soybeans, black beans, or corn yet.

He added the crop has been pretty good for his wheat and canola which have already been harvested. Dyck said his yields are average or a little above average this year.
