A second crest of the Pembina River is now being forecast at Gretna. Manitoba EMO says the rise, which is expected to be similar to the first crest, should hit in the next three to four days.

Municipality of Rhineland crews have begun preparing for this surge. It is unclear if there are plans to close the customs offices at Gretna and Neche, North Dakota or if the partial dike at Gretna will once again be closed.

Currently, the Pembina River at Neche continues to drop and remains out of major flood stage at 20.08 feet. At Walhalla, North Dakota, however, the river has risen to 11.71 feet.

Meantime, the Province's latest flood bulletin indicates ice jams continue to cause overland flooding across parts of southern Manitoba.

The flood watch has been lifted for the lower Red River but open water levels remain high. Most Red River tributaries are declining, with the exception of the Morris River and La Salle River.

A flood warning has been issued for Pelican Lake, Rock Lake and Oak Lake, and the Morris River and Pembina River.

A flood watch has been issued for the Boyne River downstream of Carman.
