For the third straight year, the Rural Municipality of Stanley will be paving roadways in its villages. Phase III of the Village Paving Program was approved during council's latest meeting Thursday and Reeve Morris Olafson stated they are excited to get things underway early in the month of June.

"Phase one and two have gone through and turned out pretty good and now we are doing the last phase of that this year. It's a cost sharing agreement between the RM and each property owner affected," said Olafson.

Each of the 108 properties affected by this will be paying a one time fee of $4,000 or can put it on their individual taxes for a ten year period.

According to Olafson Stanley's public works crews will be doing the base work again, just like previous years, and the paving tender was awarded to Nelson River Construction.

Phase one and two were done in previous years and were well received by the residents of Reinfeld. Phase three will see all of the roads in the village of Reinfeld paved and Stanley is looking into moving the paving program into the surrounding villages.

The total estimated cost of phase three is $775,000.
