STARS Air Ambulance was called to an accident near Miami Tuesday night involving a young girl.

At approximately 6:50 p.m on Tuesday, an SUV traveling Eastbound on Hwy 23, two kilometres East of PR 244, blew a tire which caused the driver to lose control and hit the ditch. The 59-year-old female driver from Morden, along with five passengers all suffered injuries. STARS responded to transport a pediatrics patient injured during an the accident, meeting with ground EMS just South of Carman on Highway 3, and flying the patient to Winnipeg where she was taken to the Children's Hospital.

Alcohol is not a factor in the collision, and all the occupants were wearing their seatbelts. The Manitou RCMP continue to investigate this collision.

There were two other collisions in the general area yesterday evening as well.
 
At 10:20 p.m on PR 244 at Road 29 N, a pickup truck hit a deer. RCMP report there were no injuries to the driver but the pickup had to be towed.
 
Shortly after, at 10:30 p.m on Road 29 N, five kilometres East of St. Alphonse, a grain truck rolled into the ditch and spilled its load. The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
