Becky William's Ecole Morden Middle School Grade 5 class makes a donation every year to an organization of their choosing to promote "kids helping kids."

This year the class chose the Katie Cares Beanie Babies program which hands out stuffed teddy bears to children in hospital.

"These kids have really worked hard, they understand giving from their heart," said Katie Cares' Ruth Reimer. "This is just so wonderful, it's overwhelming at times when I think of the generosity of these children."

During the Pay it Forward May campaign this year, William's class raised just over $500 with a Taco in a Bag sale.

Lynda Lambert-MacLean, the Executive Director of the Morden Area Foundation, says the board agreed to cover the rest of the cost for what the class could not raise, so the $1000 goal could be reached.

"For them [the students] to see that, at this age, they can make a difference, a huge difference, in the world." Lambert-MacLean says, noting that William teaches how even small acts of kindness can do great things, and even for kids their age, they can still help despite having a lack of resources.
