On November 6th there will be a tax sale on the final two properties of the 140-year-old rail line in the RM of Morris.

"That will be made available to whoever is interested and then that will conclude the transfer of the old rail line to... the RM of Morris or to whoever is the successful purchaser," said RM of Morris Reeve Ralph Groening.

Council will also be in discussion with landowners adjacent to rail property that the RM has already taken over.

Groening noted there is interest from nearby farmers to make use of that land.

"So what we will propose is to meet with the landowners and accommodate them as best we can to come up with an agreement that provides them with some assurance that any expenditure that they make to level or prepare the land for farming will be covered."

Groening said council wants to provide the opportunity to recuperate expenses needed to prepare the land for farm use.
