Tim Hortons Camp Day was celebrated across Canada on June 6, raising a combined $9,692 between Winkler and Morden locations.

The Morris location raised $1,792 from coffee sold on the day to help kids in low income families go to camp.

Tim Hortons teamed up with the Morden and Winkler Big Brothers Big Sisters who helped find the kids who are deserving to go to the different camps this summer.

"It's always so exciting to see the community get so involved," said Betty, an employee at the Winkler Tim Hortons.

This year marked the 14th annual Camp Day at the local stores.

Winkler and Morden Tim Hortons Owner Lynda Derksen says they're excited to be a part of the initiative. She notes her own daughters attended camp and the experience was a meaningful one.

"It's something they will always remember, memories they will always cherish."

"I'm very excited to go to camp this year," camper Larry says, adding he looks forward to canoeing, hiking and swimming.
