MWM Environmental in Morris has made a $312 donation to the town.

Larry Klein, sales representative for MWM, explained that every time one of their recycling carts is emptied, 5 cents goes back to the the town of Morris.

"MWM has promised 5 cents a cart for all the carts we've tipped for recycling carts since the beginning of our contract and that works out to 6,240 carts we've tipped up to this point," he said.

The company let the town decide where the money should go, and therefore the $312 donation was given to the Communities in Bloom organization.

Ruth Murray, chair of the Communities in Bloom committee, said the money will be used toward their 20th annual conference in Morris next year.

"It's a good way to showcase our community," said Murray

Shelly Stupinsky, co-chair of the provincial conference, is excited for it to be held in Morris.

"It'll really put Morris on the map... all these people will be coming to Morris and will see what a great community we are," Stupinsky said.

Next year's annual Communities in Bloom conference will take place September 7 and 8.
