Two weather systems are expected to pass through the Red River Valley in the next 6 or 7 days, and both are Colorado lows.

The first one is expected to hit on Saturday tapering off to flurries on Sunday, and is expected to dump about 10cm of snow on our region and up to 15cm into the southeast corner of the province.

Meteorologist Natalie Hasell says the second Colorado low will arrive about mid next week, based on their models, and will likely bring even more precipitation than the first system.

She says the temperature will be close to zero, which means the snow is going to be quite a bit heavier as well.

She tells us that both systems could also bring winds, reducing visibility in local blowing snow and creating difficult road conditions.
