The giant window that has served as a centrepiece to Carman's Memorial Hall is being replaced. Mayor Bob Mitchell says the work is a continuation of a project to restore the 

Access to the front entrance of the Memorial Hall will be cut off during the window replacement historic First World War monument.

"It's kind of a nice old window," said Mitchell of the 10'x12'' piece. "Unfortunately it's single-pane (with) broken panes, so they're replacing it."

Mitchell adds visitors won't be able to access the front entrance to the Memorial Hall for about two weeks. Instead, they'll have to use the rear entrance until the work is complete.

The project is expected to cost about $22,000.
