This weekend some well-loved fictional characters will be brought to life in the Flatlands Theatre Company's production of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

Quinton Stoesz is Mr. Beaver in the play and says "we've got an amazing team. We've got an amazing beloved director who's fearsome, she never gives up. And we've got our costume person, she's always great, always makes sure that we have our pants and shirts and all that stuff."

He adds, the make-up team also does a brilliant job to make them look the part.

Bruce Fehr is playing Aslan, the fan-favourite Lion. He says he wasn't sure about playing the part when he was first asked but is excited to bring the character to life.

"This play has been a different process for me than I would normally do because of the iconic part that I'll be playing. So trying to get into that characters head," says Fehr.

He also says his favourite part of the books and movies is Aslan.

"We tried to stick to the original book as much as possible. Most people have seen the movies, but there's a lot of people who have read the books," adds Fehr.

The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe runs from Thursday, Nov. 1 to Sunday, Nov. 4.

For theatre fans looking to get even more theatre out of their weekend, CandleWick is also showing a production at the Manitou Opera House called The History of Dating. The comedy show runs Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.
