A two-vehicle accident closed the southbound lanes of Main St. in Winkler over the lunch hour today.

The Winkler Fire Department assisted in extricating one of the people involved in the accident.

Winkler Police report the accident occurred at the intersection of Main St. and Muirham Dr.

An SUV was traveling west across Main St. when it collided with a southbound car, striking the car's driver-side door.

Winkler Fire extricated the driver who received minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Police report no charges have been laid at this time, though the investigation is ongoing.
