Winkler Police responded to two unrelated assaults, within an hour of each other, at the same location.

On November 12 at approximately 3:00 p.m, police were dispatched to Navigator Apartments regarding an assault that had taken place. The suspect, a 17 year-old-male, was reported to have assaulted his father and his father's girlfriend and had also punched a hole in the wall and threw items around the apartment.

The suspect had left the scene prior to the officers' arrival but returned while police were still present in the apartment. The male was subsequently arrested for assault and mischief over $5000 and later released on a Promise to Appear with conditions.

However, at approximately 4:30 p.m, the same day, police were once again dispatched to Navigator Apartments regarding an assault in progress between a female and male, unrelated to the day's previous incident.

Police learned that a female was in a common hallway kicking an apartment door. After the male resident opened the door she began assaulting him by hitting, scratching and kicking.

During the entire incident, the female was holding a small baby.

Police arrested the female, a 20-year-old resident of Winkler, for assault. She was later released on a Promise to Appear with conditions. Child and Family Services was also notified of the incident.
