Wednesday the community alongside Western School Division (WSD) senior administrative staff and trustees came together for a discussion. Chair Brian Fransen stated there were three main topics they talked about including, value for cost, growth in the division, and how to tell our (the division's) story.

"We got a good response. There were some really good questions that were asked. Some topics that came up were maybe a little bit touchy. When we're talking about growth, we need to talk about growth we need to talk about new schools, when are we getting them, what's going to happen with catchments, what's going to be the composition of that school and what is it going to look like," said Fransen. "At this time we don't have any solid answers. Right now we are exploring options and waiting a school announcement."

Regarding the new school, Fransen noted they keep talking about it, and keep asking for when it could be coming to Morden, but at this time they are unsure as to when it could become a reality.

During the consultation Fransen talked about what the school will look like, what grades it will included.  Other details are unknown at this time and will be finalized if they are awarded a new school.

"It would definitely take a lot of pressure off of our full classrooms that we have right now," said Fransen when talking about how the new school would help alleviate the space crunch they are currently in.
