The City of Morden will be having a few days this week where Municipal Waste Management will be picking up homeowners' compostable material.

If you are in zone 1, your pick up is tomorrow (October 17th). Zone 2 is Wednesday, October 18th, with Zone 3 on Friday, October 20th.

With the weather getting colder more people are preparing their yards and gardens for the winter.

Communications Coordinator Thomas Guenther said they'll be picking up grass clippings, leaves, garden refuse, and branches on the curb and in paper bags or compost-friendly bags on those dates.

Guenther would like to make sure everyone who wishes to utilize this service has their materials out by 7 a.m. because crews picking everything up will only come through each zone once.

He added plastic bags will not be accepted and if your material isn't picked up or if you wish to clean everything up at a later date it's the responsibility of the homeowner to drop off their materials at the Morden compost yard on Willcocks Rd. at any time.
