A Father's Day tradition continues this weekend as the 32nd Manitoba Marathon will take place Sunday in Winnipeg. Over 13,260 competitors have already registered for this years event which includes the 26.2 mile Full Marathon, the 13.1 mile Half Marathon, team relay, 10 kilometre walk, 2.6 mile Super Run and the Mini Mites Fun Run. Hillary Oneruiyot of Calgary won the men's full marathon in 2009 with a time of 2:27:29. Cindy Sondag of Grand Fork captured the women's marathon in 3:12:09. 13,914 runners took part in the Manitoba Marathon last year. Since 1979 the Marathon has raised over $4 million dollars to support Manitobans who live with an intellectual disability.

 

Sports Director Clayton Dreger asked the Executive Director of the Manitoba Marathon Shirley Lumb just how hectic is it at their office this week as they prepare for Sunday's marathon.
