A Tinker Creek duo will attempt the World's toughest mountain bike race.

James and Jonathan Friesen will be leaving today for the Trans-Rockies Challenge 5 in Fernie, B.C.

James says the race is a week long and in that time they will be biking over 10,000 Metres of rocky terrain and vertical climb.

Training for the race began in winter with 15 to 20 hours of biking each week.

Friesen says they did some training in the Pembina Hills but adds a large part of riding in the Rockies is being psychologically prepared.
