Kayleigh Wiens of Garden Valley Collegiate in Winkler set a meet record in the varsity girls tetrathlon at the Provincial High School Track & Field Championships this past weekend at the University of Manitoba. Wiens recorded 2199 points. Sanford Collegiate captured the "AAA" aggregate title while Westmount Collegiate of Swan Lake won the "A" title. Almost 1,400 athletes took part in the three-day event. Madison Willey of Garden Valley finished first in the junior varsity girls shotput. Larissa Lethbridge of Pilot Mound captured the varsity girls shotput. Amber Cattelier of Vita won the varsity girls discus and Braeden Peters of Garden Valley finished first in the junior varsity boys 800 metres. Courtney Van De Kerckhove of Westmound won the varsity girls triple jump. Melanie Baron of Sanford finished first in the junior varsity girls 400 metres.
