Manitoba athletes won 20 medals Thursday at the Special Olympics Canada National Summer Games in London, Ontario including 10 in Rythmic Gymnastics. Ashlee Wilwand of Winnipeg captured one gold, two silver and two bronze medals while Michelle Augert of Winnipeg won five silver medals. Manitoba's swim team won seven medals. Danny Crow of Ile des Chenes and Ashley McLeod of Winnipeg both captured gold, Tanner Price of Brandon won silver while McLeod, Terry Kelly of Winnipeg, Jason Norminton of Brandon, and Alexandra Gantenbein of Brandon captured bronze. Steve Klassen of Winkler and Dale Cunningham of Brandon won gold in doubles from 10-Pin Bowling. Margaret Harder of Winkler won bronze in the 50 metres in athletics. Manitoba athletes have won 29 medals including seven gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze. Manitoba's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie with Ontario and then downed Nova Scotia 7-3. Manitoba's softball team beat British Columbia 12-6 and lost 19-8 to Nova Scotia.
