Wednesday's speech from the throne contained a few agricultural mentions.


It guaranteed a producer vote on changes to the Canadian Wheat Board if the federal conservatives refuse to hold a plebiscite on wheat and barley.


Support for the expansion of bio-diesel production and marketing was also mentioned.


A commitment to continue to support producers in 2006, providing $60 million to the Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization program to help producers overcome income losses from previous years.


The speech also committed the bio-fuels act will be updated to ensure fuel quality for consumers.
