Brent Krahn is home in Winkler visiting friends and family after spending a year in the cornhusker state.

Krahn spent the past season with the expansion Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights of the American Hockey League.

He says while crowds weren't great this year, that should change.

The fans do have knowledge of the game of hockey but because it's a new team they don't have an appreciation for the A.H.L. product.

He says a good marketing plan over the summer and a couple of winning seasons should change that.

Krahn, his wife and daughter make their home in Calgary.

He is a former first round draft pick of the Calgary Flames.
