Manitoba's spring wheat harvest is moving along at a rapid pace.

Bruce Burnett is the Canadian Wheat Board's Director of Weather and Crop Surveillance.

He says quality has been excellent so far with most fields grading a number one.

Burnett estimates two-thirds of this year's spring wheat harvest is now in the bin in our province.

Barley quality has been very good as well, but protein levels have been high in eastern and central regions meaning the grain may not grade malt.

He feels harvest is approximately three-quarters complete.
