Officials with the town of Emerson are pleased with how well their emergency plan worked last weekend.

The community struggled with flooded basements due to heavy rains. EMO coordinator Bill Spanjer says their plan rolled out fairly smoothly during the event.

He says their mutual aid agreement with Letellier was also a big help.

Spanjer says the town has distributed information to all homeowners explaining the steps residents need to take when submitting any claims for damage under the Disaster Financial Assistance program.
