After five days, a boil water advisory has now ended for most affected communities within the Pembina Valley Water Co-op.

The order took effect Monday morning when crews got to work connecting the new potable reservoir and pumping system at the Letellier treatment plant to the facility's two existing distribution lines. This required the pipes to be cut and the lines to become depressurized, forcing the boil water advisory.

The provincial Office of Drinking Water confirmed late Friday afternoon that bacteriological testing has met regulatory standards and regular water use can resume in the following communities:

RM of Montcalm

Town of Altona

Halbstadt Marais Water Coop

Roseau River Anishinaabe First Nation

RM of Stanley (portion)

Municipality of Rhineland

Municipality of Emerson Franklin

Blumengart Colony
