The fall session of the provincial Legislature begins November 15th, and the Progressive Conservatives want a number of agriculture related issues dealt with.

Agriculture Critic Ralph Eichler says obviously the Canadian Wheat Board is front and center.

He adds the lack of cattle slaughter capacity also needs to be addressed along with the successor to the C.A.I.S. program.

Eichler also hopes the N.D.P.'s proposed nutrient management regulations under the Water Protection Act will be introduced before the end of the year.

He says unfortunetley the Department of Water Stewardship has a new minister, referring to the recently appointed Christine Melnick.

Eichler notes the Department is in chaos, and is unsure how that may impact the timing on when the nitrogen and phosphorous regulations are introduced.
