Although the mayor of Gretna is just getting used to the position, he says the community made significant steps in 2006.

Gretna mayor Dennis Loewen says they've supported the arena, MCI and the Altona Foundation.

 

He adds council added to the RCMP cairn, installed a generator hook-up at the weigh station, seal coated some roads and invested in zoning for commercial development.
