The Winkler Community Foundation can look back on 2006 and be proud.

The foundation held their annual meeting today at lunch and Executive Director Laurie Dyck says bringing back Citizen of the Year Award was a great success and they'll be supporting the award in the future.

She says another accomplishment for them is the recent acquisition of office space in the Winkler Civic Center.

Dyck says they are in the process of moving into the new space and she's excited about having the advantage of being more accessible to the public.

Dyck adds they gave out $20,000 in grants to organizations in the community.

They hope to raise that amount in the future with their new "Reach for the Peak" campaign.
