A 38 year old male was arrested last Thursday afternoon by Morden Police after officers received a call about an assault and property damage.

At 5:25pm, police were dispatched to a residence, and learned the suspect was also attempting to start a fire there.

The male was arrested without incident.

The victim was subsequently transported to Boundary Trails Health Centre with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The accused was charged with Aggravated Assault, Mischief Under $5,000, Possession of Incendiary Material, Uttering Threats and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking.

He was remanded into custody, and set to appear in Winnipeg Provincial Court yesterday (Monday, June 5th).
