The network of weather stations scattered around the province provides temperature, precipitation, and heat unit accumulation data.

Manitoba Agriculture Agro-Meteorologist Andrew Nadler says the system performed very well.
he adds  the key this year was establishing a stable monitoring network.

With that in place the Department will now be looking at the value added products which can be derived from the information collected.

Nadler notes there still are some gaps in the network, and M.A.F.R.I. is planning to fix that.

He estimates an additional 6 to 8 stations will be added.

All of the information collected by the program can be accessed the Department's website.
