A long-time civic leader in Manitou will not seek re-election in October.

Mayor Walter Mueller joined town council 40 years ago in 1967, and took the mayor's chair in 1992.

 

He had been Deputy Mayor before that, and filled for different mayors on several occasions.

 

Mueller says he has been fortunate to work with many good town councillors.

He notes many good things have happened in the community because the right people were in the right places.
