For the first time since 2006, the Manitoba Moose will open the regular season on the road when they face the Peoria Rivermen on Friday, October 8th. This will actually mark the second time in franchise history the Moose will open a season against the AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues as they began the 2005-06 campaign with a pair of games in Peoria. The next night, on Saturday, October 9th, the Moose will continue their short season-opening road trip in Rockford with a game against the Ice Hogs, the American Hockey League affiliate of the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks. Manitoba will then open the home half of their 15th anniversary schedule with four consecutive games against North Division rivals. On Friday, October 15th and Saturday, October 16th, the Moose will host the Grand Rapids Griffins. Then on Thursday, October 21st and Friday, October 22nd, Manitoba will face the Hamilton Bulldogs at MTS Centre.
