There's some exciting news in regards to Alzheimer's Disease.

A new drug has been discovered that could halt the progressions of the disease.

Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba South Central Regional Coordinator Marge Warkentin says the drug was initially discovered after testing in on mice.

She says human testing has begun, but it will be about four years before the drug in on the market.

Warkentin says some of the money they raise goes towards research.

She says people taking part in their events in the area have definitely had a hand in the new find.
