For the 4th consecutive year Winkler Barracudas have swam away with the Grand Prix Championship in Neepawa.

Organizer Ruth Reimer says although they had a smaller group this year the enthusiasm she saw made up for the lack in numbers.

She mentions that kids were shaving off 6, 10 even 12 seconds off a race which is a huge accomplishment in a swimmers lifetime.

Reimer says they begin practicing in May, twice a week, twice a day for a good one hour work out.

She believes all the dedication they put into their start and flip turn is what gives them the edge in competitions.

Reimer also acknowledges the supportive parents, great coaches, as well as the rec department and lifeguards.
