The MLA for Emerson says the provincial government should take a second look at its new ambulance legislation.

Jack Penner says the new standards are the reason why the volunteer service in Emerson has shut down.

As of today emergency service will be provided from Morris.

Penner says most rural communities do not have the resources to have two EMR qualified staff on the vehicle at all times.

He says its unfair for Emerson residents to wait half an hour for service from Morris when there is an ambulance sitting in Emerson with capable staff.
