Parents are being encouraged to play it safe when picking up their children at Elmwood Elementary School in Altona.

Principal Al Schroeder says there has been a lack of consideration at the North Drive.

He says new signage will indicate the drive is a one-way, the speed limit, and where to park.

When is comes to the safety of students, Schroeder says parents need to have patience and consideration when picking them up or dropping them off.

Schroeder adds they are also encouraging parents to use the entire length of the drive, because there is congestion at the east end.

Letters of concern from parents have been sent to the Border Land School Division, and changes will soon be made.
